Freeway Flood Protection

All of Lewis County just isn’t as important as the part that I-5 runs through. Sorry.

The Chehalis Chronicle is outraged by this news, although it doesn’t come as a surprise to anyone else. Lewis County is still recovering from the devastating floods that struck the area last winter, and there is money set aside in a bipartisan legislative plan to help prevent such loss from floods in the future. However, the plan focuses first on that part of Lewis County that includes I-5. The Chronicle argues that a more fair and balanced plan would treat the site of an old surplus store equally with the primary interstate economic driver that is our only major north-south freeway.

We hope that surplus store sells sandbags.
