In yet another sign of how Republicans are deciders while Democrats dilly-dally, Luke Esser and the state Republican party have been writing their fundraising letters and running their campaign against Obama. That was even before the May 6 round.
Democrats are slowly coming around to what Republicans already know, and another superdelegate, U.S. Representative Rick Larsen, made his official announcement for Obama yesterday, bringing the Washington superdelegate count to five each for Clinton and Obama and seven still undeclared.
For Obama: U.S. Representatives Rick Larsen, Brian Baird and Adam Smith, Governor Chris Gregoire, Party Leader Pat Notter.
For Clinton: U.S. Senators Patty Murray and Maria Cantwell, Representatives Jay Inslee and Norm Dicks, Party Leader and King County Executive Ron Sims.
Undeclared: U.S. Representative Jim McDermott, State Party Chair Dwight Pelz, and Party Leaders Ed Cote, Eileen Macoll, Sharon Mast, David McDonald, and Tom Foley.
Generally only the early endorsers will be rewarded with a plum job in the new administration.
The Republicans already have their decidee, and John McCain is coming to the Bellevue Hyatt Regency on May 12, where he will meet and greet average Washingtonians at a “Victory Dinner.” Tickets are only $33,100 per person, or free for hot lady lobbyists who look like Cindy.
