The state Democratic Party is continuing its series of attacks on Dino Rossi in the absence of a formal Chris Gregoire campaign. Democratic Party Chairman Dwight Pelz has released a statement on today's Supreme Court decision upholding Washington's law calling for the top two candidates in the primary election to move on to the general, regardless of party affiliation.

Coming on the heels of a string of state Democratic attacks on Dino Rossi, the Rossi campaign is hitting back at Christine Gregoire on the issue of spending. Rossi sent out a press release this evening taking Gregoire to task on the increases in the state budget under her leadership.

Christine Gregoiresigned a bill today that the requires Washington to dramatically reduce its carbon emissions to the level they were in 1990 by 2020, followed by 25 % reductions from that level for the each of the following fifteen year intervals. The bill also looks to create "green collar" jobs through incentives and requires the state to join in on regional carbon reduction coalitions with other states.
On the heels of Gov. Chris Gregoire's announcement last week that she would refrain from raising money until she had completed bill signing, the Washington State Democratic Party has unleashed its own attack on Republican Dino Rossi's fundraising.
Gov. Chris Gregoire has signed an executive order to extend the state's biodiversity council, her office announced in a press release today. The order keeps the council's business going through 2010 and requires the group to implement the early action items from the "Washington Biodiversity Conservation Strategy: Sustaining Our Natural Heritage for Future Generations."
