Seattle Times' David Postman reported yesterday that Rick Bart, the former Snohomish County Sheriff recently pushed out of office by term limits, is likely to challenge Rep. Rick Larsen (D-Arlington) for his Congressional seat in the 2nd District that covers Northwest Washington.
If the Republican Bart officially enters the race, he still has not reported any funds raised for his campaign, he will be the third official challenge to an incumbent member of congress in the state, joining Democratic challengers Darcy Burner in the 8th and George Fearing in the 4th.
Bart would fill a void left by 2006 challenger Doug Roulstone, who recently decided not to stage a rematch for the seat Larsen won by a 30-point margin.
