George Fearing Kicks off Campaign to Unseat Doc Hastings in Yakima

Richland Attorney George Fearing officially kicked off his campaign to unseat Congressman Doc Hastings in the 4th District today with campaign stops in Yakima, Wenatchee, Moses Lake and Richland.
The Yakima Herald covered the first event, a "sparsely" attended 8:00 AM press conference at a sandwich shop in Yakima. Nevertheless Fearing told the Herald, "There's more excitement in the Democratic Party than there has been in many years."
Given the recent turnout for Democratic caucuses this weekend, in many places more than double what it was in 2004, Fearing certainly has a point.
The incumbent, Richard "Doc" Hastings (R-Pasco), has held the 4th District seat since 1994, but has yet to officiallyannounce his intent to retain his seat.
