Reed to seek Sen. Sheldon's commissioner seat

Does that headline sound confusing? Don't feel bad.

Sen. Tim SheldonSen. Tim SheldonTim Sheldon is a state Senator, but he is also a Mason County Commissioner. Roslynne Reed (D-Hoodsport), a retired air-traffic controller, thinks that Sheldon has bit off more than he can chew in his dual role of State Senator and County Commissioner. So to help remedy that, she is running for his County Commissioner seat.

"I've been to meetings in district 2," Reed told the Olympian, "and I don't see the representation that should be there."

Sheldon reacted by saying, "I'm not elected to be there every day. I'm not elected to run the county; I'm elected to lead the county."

Reed is also the Mason County Democratic Party chair, and although Sheldon is running as a Democrat this time around, he was elected last time as an Independent, and famously endorsed both Dino Rossi and George W. Bush in 2004.

Republican Deborah Reis (R-Union) is also running for the position.

I applaud those running

I applaud those running against Tim Sheldon. It is time that someone steps up and represents those living and working in Mason County.I am voting for DEBORAH Reis for that reason. Tim has been known to chair the commissioner meetings via speaker phone, is out of touch with those still suffering from the December floods, and only truly represents those constituants that he beleives will pay to keep him in office long enough to retire with considerable benefits.I was asked to share with Tim Sheldon what my issues were and when I did (insurance benefits) I received no responce from my letter- so I called. I was that he had responded(He did not)and then told that my issue was not one that his constituants had. I thought I was a constituant? Maybe I wasn't wealthy enough.
