Darcy Burner "Still Lacks" Experience to Represent People of Washington
Re-Run Candidate Still Running on Empty in Race for Washington's 8th District

Washington- In 2006, the voters rejected Darcy Burner because she lacked credibility and experience, and as today's Seattle Times points out, not much has changed.  Despite the fact that she has yet to take a position on some of the real issues and still hasn't disclosed who she supports for president, Darcy Burner thinks that burying her head in a few books for six months somehow now makes her "ready" for a congressional run in Washington's 8th Congressional District.

"But as the Reichert-Burner rematch gets under way this year, the question of Burner's experience still looms over her campaign." (Seattle Times, April 22, 2008)

Burner is now claiming, according to the Seattle Times article, that since she's read up on current affairs, that she's better prepared to go to the nation's capitol, but voters in Washington won't fall for her rhetoric in 2008 either:

"But knowledge and experience aren't synonymous, said Todd Donovan, a political-science professor at Western Washington University. No matter how much Burner knows about the issues, she still lacks a public-service record.  ‘I don't know what she could have done for two years ... that could have closed the gap,' Donovan said." (Seattle Times, 4/22/08)

"Darcy Burner might be good at producing YouTube videos but she has never produced any real results for the people of Washington's 8th Congressional District," said NRCC spokesman Julie Shutley.

Unlike Burner, who is an opportunist and a professional candidate, Congressman Reichert is a local public servant who has a record of fighting for the people of Washington:

"Reichert, the former King County sheriff, is in his fourth year in Congress and has worked to secure a reputation in line with the moderate voters of the Eastside's 8th Congressional District." (Seattle Times, April 22, 2008)

Just like 2006, Darcy Burner's sparse resume and scanty positions on the real issues indicate that Burner clearly lacks the credibility to represent Washingtonians in D.C.
