2nd Dem announces in 5th CD
By Bryan BissellFormer Spokane Valley City Council candidate Jennie Willardson (D-Spokane Valley) announced her intention to run for Congress in the 5th District, according to Jim Camden. Willardson joins Democrat Mark Mays in challenging the incumbent, Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers.
Willardson says on her website, "It is going to take a woman to win agains a woman and I am that Democratic woman.an to win agains a woman and I am that Democratic woman."

Mays for 5th CD Democratic Candidate
On May 17, 2008, the Washington State 5th CD nominated Mark Mays as its candidate to run against Cathy McMorris Rodger. The PCO nominating convention was held following the 5th CD delegate convention at the Trent Elementary School in Spokane.
Dr. Mays is a viable candidate and will need support. It would be the year to see change not just in Washington DC but the "real" Washington, as well.
