Today Rep. Dave Reichert (R-Auburn) gave the weekly economic section of the House GOP radio address and used the platform to criticize House Democrats for killing the Colombia Free Trade Agreement bill this week.
"If you need any indication of just how badly broken Congress is, look no further than what happened in the House yesterday when, in an unprecedented maneuver, the majority voted to kill a bipartisan free trade agreement with Colombia," Reichert said.
"As a result, Colombian goods will continue to enter the United States virtually duty-free, while American goods will continue to face steep tariffs. Common sense tells me we must level the playing field and give our workers and our businesses a fair chance to compete."
Reichert also talked about the Republican commitment to stick up for the victims of the housing crisis and the general philosophy of lower taxes.

Bipartisan?
the majority voted to kill a bipartisan free trade agreement with Colombia
Really? How was this a bipartisan free trade agreement if the majority was able to kill it?
All but 10 Democrats voted to kill it, and all but 6 Republicans voted to not do so.
Nothing bipartisan about that, and certainly nothing "unprecedented".
This was a poor agreement, and all Reichert is bloviating about is that he was on point to defend it for him man George Bush and he failed miserably to do so - like he fails at much of what he tries to do.
