Kitsap Republicans hopeful for fall elections

The Kitsap Sun has the news from the Kitsap County Republican Convention, which took place Saturday. Despite the absence of the scheduled keynote speaker, Republican Party Chair Luke Esser, the attending candidates were hopeful of their chances to gain seats in November.

Connie Lord, candidate for State Senate was blunt about it.

"I'm going to beat him," she said of incumbent Democrat Phil Rockefeller.

They also heard from State House candidates Randy Neatherlin, Jan Angel, Brad Gehring and Marlyn Jensen as well as 1st CD challenger Larry Ishmael.

I know the parties instinctively oppose each other, but I believe everyone can comfortably get behind Neatherlin.
