RGA launches new ad, Gregoire strikes back

The Republican Governors Association launched another television ad in Washington this week, changing their tack from the gambling compact to Gregoire's record on safety.

"Whether it's letting the state budget spiral out of control or losing track of sex offenders, Chris Gregoire has failed Washington families," said RGA Communications Director Chris Schrimpf.

The ad, called "On Her Watch", blames Gregoire for releasing 1300 sex offenders who classified themselves as homeless. It features a mother saying she has become more concerned for her child's safety since Gregoire came into office.

The Gregoire campaign quickly responded, releasing their own ad and disputing the facts of the RGA spot.

"With less than 30 days to go, Republican Dino Rossi's backers have resorted to fear-mongering and distorting the facts in order to scare voters," said Debra Carnes, communications director for the Gregoire Campaign. "No one has been tougher on sex offenders than Governor Gregoire.

"These are the facts: Governor Gregoire has a record of protecting our children and communities from sexual predators. We're asking for Republican Dino Rossi to reject these ads and join our call for them to be pulled off the air."

The Gregoire ad features prosecutors and sheriffs from Pierce and Snohomish Counties touting the work done by Gregoire.

Releasing 1300 Sex Offenders, Homeless?

Come on now, how can you blame the govenor for this? It's needing more places to house these people who are released AND HOMELESS. It isn't just sex offenders, it also include murderers and rapists as well. I can't believe that the government allowed for 800 BILLION dollars of tax payers money went to bail out the rich. That money would have helped ALL of us with houseing the homeless.

It's time to keep the democrats in office. YOUR RIDICULOUS, ADS ARE MAKING ME SEE IT MORE AND MORE EVERY DAY. You are twisiting these ads and NOT GIVING US ALL THE FACTS. Shame on all government politicians. Call in all the foregin money we have loaned to ither countries. You will have money to house the homeless. I'm sticking with Democrats, THANK YOU FOR THE ADS. They helps me to see how Republicans work.

Maybe you should look at who

Maybe you should look at who the rest of law enforcement endorses, Dino Rossi, and ask why. Most of the people at the news conference yesterday were prosecutors and firemen. NOT POLICE OFFICERS. I wonder why...... She has not been tough on crime. 3 police officers were killed by violent offenders who were released on her watch. Is that OK? She may say she is tough on crime, but lets really look at the statistics on that one.
