Bunney on the air in Pierce Co. exec. race

Pierce County Councilman Shawn BunneyPierce County Councilman Shawn BunneyPierce County Councilmember Shawn Bunney (R-Lake Tapps) is the first one on the air in the hotly contested race for Pierce County Executive, the TNT is reporting.

The ad focuses on the issues of jobs and transportation, suggesting that Pierce County is in need of leadership to enact large transportation projects in order

"In these tough economic times we can trust Shawn Bunney to do the right thing for jobs and transportation," an announcer says, followed by Tacoma City Councilmember Rick Talbert explaining how Bunney will work to keep local taxes in the area for projects that the ad claims will create 80,000 jobs.

Bunney is the only Republican in the race to succeed incumbent John Ladenburg (D-Tacoma). Also running are Pierce County Councilmember Calvin Goings (D-Puyallup), Pierce County Auditor Pat McCarthy (D-Tacoma) and independent candidate Mike Lonergan of Tacoma.

Rick Is Awesome

I'd like to commend Tacoma City Councilman Rick Talbert for standing by his friend Shawn Bunney and not bending to the Democratic Party hacks to support a sub-par (D) candidate. We need more leaders like you in local government!

Nice Ad

Way to go Shawn. You got my vote. I'm sick of my money going to King County! It's time for a leader with Pierce County First Politics in mind!
