BIAW ads headed for television, Gregoire pushes back

The Gregoire campaign, much like their opponents did last week when Evergreen Progress went on the air with three television ads focusing on Dino Rossi's state senate record, are pushing back in advance of a third party television advertising buy by the BIAW's It's Time for a Change PAC. They are looking to set the tone before the ads hit the airwaves.

The Change PAC has not publicized which television advertisements it will be using, but its website, changeourgov.com, highlights videos from both the state Republican Party and MoveRed.org, the youth coalition of the King County Republican Party.

"While Dino Rossi tries to hide the fact he's a George Bush Republican on the ballot, his biggest supporters, Olympia's most powerful special interest lobbyists, continue to spend what seems to be an unlimited amount on false and misleading attack ads," said campaign press secretary Aaron Toso. "It is no surprise that Republican Dino Rossi's biggest special interest friends would sign a blank check to try and buy the Governor's Mansion.

"Given Gov. Gregoire's strong record of working to clean up Puget Sound, taking on climate change and protecting workers rights, it makes sense that the BIAW would be supporting a former state senator who agrees with them."
