Governor Chris Gregoire's re-election campaign announced today that it had raised $785,050 during the month of May from 3,728 different contributors. That number brings Gregoire's cash on hand total to $4.22 million going into June.
"I'm happy to see such enthusiastic support for our campaign," said Gregoire. "It proves that voters want us to continue to take on challenges and get results on the issues that matter to them most, like education, children's healthcare and global climate change."
May's monthly total is about a half million less than the more than $1.3 million Gregoire raised in April coming off a months long fundraising freeze during the legislative session. Despite that drop off, she still outraised her opponent Dino Rossi by about $85,000 and holds a cash on hand lead of about $800,000.
The campaign also announced that it had opened eight new field offices across the state in Spokane, Tri-Cities, Bellingham, Everett, Bellevue, Tacoma, Olympia and Vancouver.
